M-Tex etch technique analysis

M-Tex etch technique analysis

In addition to providing etched work on the surface of the mold, M-Tex's experienced sales team and technical team can effectively solve all the complex technical problems of the product. In addition to our standard board textures, we can also design and develop the textures we need at the customer's request.

Demoulding angle:

In order to ensure the accuracy and success of the product texture, the correct draft angle is critical. The basic principle is that for each 13 micron texture depth, a minimum of 1° outer wall bevel angle is required. To ensure that the outer wall is not caused by the lack of precision of the mold, it is also necessary to ensure that no mold release is caused near the parting line. These all have the problem of "strain" the product. If there is a pattern that involves the grain, the angle should be increased or the texture depth gradient effect should be adopted.

Material and oxidation:

M-Tex's requirements for mold materials are very strict in the etch oxidation process. Some commonly used pre-hardened steels (P-20, NAK50), stainless steel, aluminum and other steels are characterized by their internal characteristics and alloying elements. The oxidizing syrup used by M-Tex presents a very stable production process, and the texture looks comfortable and beautiful, but the customer must know that because of the batch purchase of materials, the deviation of heat treatment effect, and the change of injection conditions due to the machine, etc. The possibility that the texture after etching is not exactly the same as the texture of the standard board.

Materials and textures:

If the material of the mold is made of impure impurities in the steel itself, some fine textures cannot be covered. If this happens, the only solution that can be solved is to change the coarser texture or make some polishing and heat treatment. Work to improve its surface.

In order to ensure the consistency of the texture, the consistency of the material is also very important: if different materials are used because of the design or product performance requirements, it is best to heat-treat according to the material characteristics to change the hardness and avoid the appearance of the product. The possibility of inconsistency.

Texture coordination:

If the project's integrity is involved, the data information of the mold and the effect requested by the customer need further discussion and coordination, in order to achieve the texture matching requirements to the maximum extent; take the spray pattern as an example, most of them are some The texture of the fine lines, the sharpness, density and depth, should produce different texture appearances according to the requirements of different patterns. This texture is very important for the luminosity factor. Of course, the surface involved here is not only the surface of the etched grain, but also the injection molding conditions, the selection of the product materials and the consideration of the mold design structure. The direct effect is "deep or shallow", "sparse or dense" and "Thick or thin", easy to be misled, must be confirmed and confirmed from the data.

Mold surface

For the texture to achieve the full effect of the template, the surface roughness of the mold must meet the requirements of the surface of the No. 320 sandpaper. If the texture requirements are finer, the mold surface requirements must be more than the surface treatment of 400 or even 600 sandpaper.

Another point is that the technicians of the mold factory must understand that in any case, the surface of the mold must be removed from the knife marks, scars and wear marks, fire patterns, weld marks, etc., and the surface treated gold plating and coating. Must be removed.

With particular emphasis on:

When the surface of the mold is burned due to damage, it must be heat treated. The mold must be preheated before welding and welded with the electrode of metallurgical composition. If the welding is not professional, the worst case is that the mold has many small sand holes and the texture can be The percentage of coverage depends on whether the severity is acceptable for the appearance. If the hardness of the welded part is different from that of the mold metal, the texture will have different textures and even traces of solder joints after etching. If the welding process is handled with care, the difference can be reduced to achieve acceptable feeling. Degree of view.

Before the mold is sent to the etched pattern, the inserts and the like must be separated. The most important thing is to avoid the inconsistency of the depth due to the dirty cleaning of the oil stains, and avoid the possibility of embroidering points in the gap. (Involving the continuity of the texture, the slider must be assembled and then textured)。

If the life of the mold is to be enhanced to enable it to produce more products, it is recommended to leave a margin of 0.2-0.6 mm on the parting line, and the chance of occurrence of burrs will be greatly reduced.

If the collision position is involved, the mold factory technician must provide a template that has been completely shrunk, and draw the line to protect the mold before etching; if the requirements are very accurate, it is recommended to draw lines on the CNC machine or with line drawing. Avoid creating large trades.

The choice of product plastics has a certain relationship with the appearance of the product and the choice of texture. Its gloss and shrinkage will change the aesthetics of the texture, depending on whether the mold design takes into account the degree of exhaust and temperature regulation.

Some narrower and deeper product surfaces, it is best to use the insert or slider scheme on the mold design to facilitate the texture to be printed or sprayed. The luminosity of the surface of the product is a soft or hard vision that directly affects the texture, and can also produce false perceptions of incorrect or inconsistent depth.

From the analysis and discussion of the above comprehensive technology, I hope to help customers solve the problems and doubts encountered in general etching, and also make M-Tex technicians more effective and more effective in discussing the etching work with customers. Clearly explain the procedures that should be addressed in their work.
